I started this blog with the best of intentions, but I kind of lost track of time, and hadn't realized how long it had been since I last checked in. So, my new resolution- post at least every other day. That being said, The reason for my absence, work, work, work!

We are creating over at Aerie Mountain and soon, we will knock your socks off with the fun and funky things coming out of our studios. Jewelry has been coming out of studio and onto our etsy page quickly, and more soap is being poured! SO, check in with us often and see our new stuff!!

Before drill tonight

Well, I was able to make one new necklace today, get covered in ice cream and get Gavin a nap all before getting ready for drill. Tonight's drill- hose advancement. We also are taking a look around the newly constructed addition to our local library. I'd love to visit the library more often, but they are only open a total of 4 hours a week; two of them being while I'm conducting drill.

I was hoping to post a picture of the new necklace, but my phone isn't charged, so I'm going to substitute a pic of Gavin in his parade uniform. He marched in the parade with me. What a ham!! I'll get the pic posted up later! This one however is better posted now!

Swimmingfor the first time!

It's been a very weird summer. It has rained almost everyday, and the days that it's not raining, it's cold and not really swimming- with- a- baby kind of weather.

But the day was really warm, around 92 and the only real day it's felt like summer, and the pond was great. We fed the fish and did lots of splashing. We saw a turtle and some old acquaintances and tired ourselves out good!

When we got home, it was Rock Band 2 for the adults (It's so addicting) and corn on the cob and a nap on the chair for Gavin. He cuttled up with his puppy and fell asleep. So cute!

If you have Rock Band 2- we should play against you some time- once we get more practice. I have no hand-eye or hand-mouth coordination it seems, as I can't even sing the words to a song unless it's one I know. Oh well. It is so fun anyway.

Hopefully today will be like yesterday, swimming followed by a band rehearsal. Who could ask for more?

New Earrings and Necklace are listed on Etsy

I spent the morning watching Little Einsteins, and listing 2 new items on our Etsy shop. Hopefully I'll get everything up soon. Just a few more weeks I think at this rate.

I am so excited!! We have some wonderful new things are on their way out of the studio. Mom has been playing with some new ideas and you all know that that always leads to spectacular! So go check us out and let me know what you think!

Blessings
Hilary

I plan to stay Deet free!

My dad is in the boy scouts, and has been my entire life. He started when my two older brothers were little and is a leader for our towns troop.

A few weeks back, his troop had their yearly week at a scout camp, where they do different events and get merit badges for completing them. It is a very nice camp, but a lot-a-bit buggy.

While he was there, he used someones bug spray to try and ward off the masses of mosquitoes which are terrorizing our part of the state, as he forgot his. The effect- a horrible rash; chemical burns, on his arms and legs where he sprayed himself. This also caused a former chemical burn (from cleaning agents) to flare up and become infected. So he went to the doctors and was given a prescription to clear up the infection and make his ankles look like ankles instead of volleyballs.

What is interesting to me, is that when he went into the pharmacy to pick up the prescription, the pharmacist took one look at his arms and said "bug spray?". He said that he'd been seeing it all summer long. It seems more and more people are reacting to the chemicals in bug spray. Or maybe it's not that people are reaction differently to the bug spray, but that the bug spray has more chemicals than before.

I'd rather not find out if it's me or the chemicals that has changed. I love the bug spray I use. I like the smell; I like that I can spay my baby and not be concerned about chemicals and I can even go to sleep without washing while we are camping, because it's all natural. There is nothing in it that will irritate my skin. I guess natural doesn't appeal to everyone. Some people think it's not as effective. But i'd rather take my chances with the few bugs that aren't deterred by the spray, then to take my chances with my skin and chancing chemical burns.

We have an Etsy Shop!

We have started on Etsy shop, to make it easier for our customers to place orders online, for our jewelry and some of our bath and body products.

Our shop doesn't currently support a shopping cart, and having an etsy shop allows our customers to sign on any time, day or night, and make purchases. If you'd like to use the old fashioned way of giving us a call, we'd still love to hear from you. :)

So come check us out and let us know what you think. We'd love feedback!

I'll try to link the page for you:

So our blog begins. . . .

I have decided after days of bumming around the internet, that we need a blog. It's fun to be able to see the ins and outs of a business or even to be able to follow a person. So, here is our blog. I'll try to keep this up to date, with the going- ons of our shop, and hope you enjoy it.
